Films - apart from the more obvious ones how about Silent Running, Westworld, Dark City or The Quiet Earth.
TV - Has to be Dr Who, X-Files. And what about Space 1999 where everyone went around wearing ridiculously flared trousers.

I am o.k. with any kind of insect or spider or snake apart from one kind of spider, the house spider!
I don't know why but I just hate them. We have one in our shed the size of Shelob so I won't go in there! Around this time of year the male house spiders are found skuttling across floors looking for females. If the one you saw was particularly large chances are it was the biggest variety which is commonly called the Cardinal spider, and only death is good enough for those!

Having said that, it's a shame he won't be touring here again. He's one of the all-time greats.

my son came up with an interesting point.. he mentioned - the now existing dome of the rock, which was built around 691ad, on the original site of mount moriah or was it the temple of jerusalem (not sure) could this be the disgusting thing that is standing in the holy place as the book of daniel predicts.. the 1335 days of the prophecy seem to be interesting as it puts it into our time period 691 + 1335 = 2026ad.
has anyone done any research on this particular subject ?.

The phrase "the desolating abomination" in Daniel 9:27 was a derogatory pun on the Seleucid name for Zeus. 2 Maccabees 6:2 shows that Epiphanes renamed the temple in honour of Olympian Zeus.
It is a long time since I looked at this particular subject so to refresh my memory and get some more information on the wordplay above I did a Google search on words such as Daniel, desolation, disgusting thing etc, etc. All I got was page after page of end-time fundy sites!
